Southern California Artist
Fred Brashear Jr. is a photo-based artist who focuses on the environmental impact of
humans in the Mojave desert, specifically on the endemic Joshua Tree. Through his art, Fred investigates his own personal traumatic experiences in correlation with the desert landscape and reveals a personal narrative of loss and tragedy. Through metaphor, Fred depicts the Joshua tree as an extension of his family, an extension that is rapidly declining due to the apathetic actions of corporate America.
