Fred Brashear Jr.

Uncertain Future, archival inkjet print, 2019.

Fred Brashear Jr. is a Southern California photo-based artist. Included into several private collections, Fred earned his MFA in Studio Art at California State University San Bernardino and has participated in multiple art exhibitions across North America. His current ongoing project documents the environmental impact of humans in the Mojave desert. Fred photographs the endemic Joshua tree landscape and incorporates organic materials reclaimed from cut or removed Joshua trees. From the reclaimed material, Fred produces handmade Joshua Tree paper and affixes his photographs using a lift transfer method to create original works of photographic art.
